Begin your practice periods by repeating the idea slowly to yourself. Then close your eyes and let your mind be still for a moment. Don't try to force any particular experience — simply hold the idea gently in your awareness and notice what arises.

Throughout the day, return to today's idea whenever you remember. Each time you apply it — especially in moments of stress, conflict, or uncertainty — you strengthen your connection to the peace that lies beneath all surface appearances.

Beloved, the lesson names the inner Teacher.

The Course's Holy Spirit, which we have been calling the inner Teacher, speaks, the lesson says, all through the day. Not at appointed times. Not during meditation only. All through the day. Including now. Including when the mind is loud. Including when we do not notice.

The lesson asks us to attend to the Voice. The attending is the practice. We do not produce the Voice. We produce the attending. The Voice has been speaking the whole time.

For most of us, the Voice is not loud. It is a sense, a leaning, a quiet preference, a sudden softening.

For today. Apply the idea. Notice, several times, in the middle of ordinary activities, the small space in which the Voice has been speaking.
